Double Dose Of S.O.D. (5/8/07)

Today's Stat of the Day (crowd goes wild!!!!)….

B.J. Upton is only the third player in the last 42 years to hold at least a share of the league lead in batting average… AND strikeouts on the same day!

Going into Tuesday's games, he's currently hitting .371 with 37 Ks in 97 ABs.

The only two other guys to accomplish the rare feat – Andres Galaragga in 1998 and George Foster in 1979.

Long live the Elias Sports Bureau! How they keep track of it all, I'll never know.

...

And since sharing is caring, another goodie...

May 8 and August 5 are the only two days of the regular season Barry Bonds has never homered on.

He faces Tom Glavine tonight who has given up 6 home runs this season.
